THE REAL STORY BEHIND THE GAME

Cedar Bluff and its people are fictional. The questions come from community discussions in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

At the July 27, 2026 public hearing, utility leaders discussed existing customers, project-funded upgrades and individual water review. Melissa Spurr said, “Not all data centers are created equally.”

The town official’s outlook also draws on Clayton Sumner’s August 20, 2026 comments. He described the project’s potential to help an entire community after discussing his research and safeguards. The game dialogue is fictional, not a direct quote.

The dialogue, project approval, tax receipts, repairs and jobs in this story are invented. They are possible outcomes, not claims about completed work in Hopkinsville.

COOLING, POWER AND NEIGHBORS

A closed IT loop can reject heat through a water-consuming cooling tower. This story proposes dry coolers instead. Whole-site water use still needs review, including any onsite generation or cogeneration.

Batteries replace engine operation in this fictional backup design. They still have cooling and electrical equipment. The full design determines noise. Battery capacity and backup duration also need engineering review.
